John Ash focuses on real estate investment from the perspective of the user, developer and investor. Rooted in the pursuit of highest and best use and the advancement of the City of Tucson, John provides infill development, redevelopment and investment opportunities near the University of Arizona, Downtown Tucson and the surrounding central areas.
John is experienced in real estate opportunities ranging from land acquisition and assemblage slated for development or investment, adaptive re-use, directing and managing the full scope of CBRE’s brokerage services to achieve lease stabilization and selling income streams of numerous types. Familiarized with local government, John is knowledgeable and experienced at leveraging: zoning overlays and incentive districts, municipal and political procedure, City of Tucson’s zoning and development code and transportation projects underlying subsequent growth trends.
John was promoted to Senior Associate in 2012. Since that time, he’s brokered various land transactions leading to the creation of 3,000+ beds of high-density, mixed-use student and market-rate residential. In addition, he has completed projects adaptively re-using and redeveloping retail, office, industrial and residential sites.
In 2005, John was hired as an associate to the market leader, CBRE of Tucson, where he specialized in the sale and lease of industrial properties and negotiating investment and land transactions. Prior to Joining CBRE, John began his real estate career in 2003 with Grubb & Ellis of Tucson.
