Historically, the New Jersey market received most large industrial requirements within the New York City metro region, as the state’s abundance of sizable, modern warehouse and distribution facilities along major interstate highways offers excellent access to the regional customer base, including New York City. However, as consumers increasingly shift their purchases to online channels and their expectations to one-day, same-day, and even one-hour delivery, many retailers and third-party logistics (3PL) providers are seeking out large warehouse and distribution spaces closer to their NYC customers.
