For the second year running, we will take part in Casa Decor
The Challenge
In the year that marks the 25th anniversary of Casa Decor, CBRE is taking on the challenge of completely transforming the top floor and terrace of a truly unique period property built in 1900 and located in the very heart of historic Madrid.
Solution
British Council started the development of a new building in the courtyard of a 19th century palace in Madrid city centre.
Under the slogan of ‘Alice’s Office’, in reference to the Lewis Carroll classic, we will create a space that plays on wonder, contrast and imagination. We will implement three different strategies to achieve this unique goal.
Firstly, the selection of the space. Companies are showing a growing interest in incorporating value-add spaces into their workplaces. Terraces and open-air spaces are becoming a decisive factor for companies searching for new offices.
Secondly, from a conceptual point of view, the project is designed around a work philosophy of ‘Think Big’. And this is what inspires the two main elements, the giant parasol and bench. These two elements are oversized and will be the centrepieces of the space, surprising everybody that visits the office.
Lastly, and playing on words, we go from Think Big, to Think Big Data by creating a dynamic wall that provides an analogue representation of Big Data, interacting with visitors and highlighting the importance of effective day-to-day information management in companies.
