1907
CB Commercial was created in Los Angeles, aiming to become the leading consultancy in the USA.
1966
Richard Ellis opened an office in Brussels, thus initiating a phase of large international expansion.
1982
Opening of the Barcelona office. At this time Richard Ellis completed large real estate valuations, such as the old trade union assets and the real estate assets of Rumasa and Banesto.
1998 CB Commercial purchased Richard Ellis Internacional and the new name of CB Richard Ellis was adopted.
Insignia acquired Richard Ellis’s British line. CB Richard Ellis purchased Hillier Parker UK. At the end of this year the new company opened its fourth Spanish office in Marbella.
2000
This year marked the launch of Insignia Richard Ellis. Offices were opened in Valencia and Malaga, which completed the company’s process of establishing itself in the main Spanish markets.
2003
CB Richard Ellis merged with Insignia, creating the leading company in consultancy services in the world. Following the merger, the company was called CB Richard Ellis.
2007
CB Richard Ellis opened its first office in Zaragoza, its seventh in Spain and the firm’s 351st office worldwide.
1896
Hillier Parker was founded in London and Coldwell Banker was founded in San Francisco.
1938
The last Richard Ellis, Richard Adam Ellis, retired.
1973
Richard Ellis was by now present in Scotland, Belgium, Australia, South Africa and France and this year touched down in Holland, Germany and Spain. It opened its Madrid office and undertook its first operations in Madrid and Barcelona.
1996
Insignia (set up in 1990) purchased Edward S. Gordon, in New York. Richard Ellis opened a new office in Palma.
1999
Insignia purchased St. Quintin and merged the two British companies, thus forming Richard Ellis St. Quintin.
2002
CB Richard Ellis opened an office in the San Fernando de Henares, Madrid, as the base for the company’s industrial services platform for all of Spain.
2005
CB Richard Ellis opened its first Moroccan and North African office in Casablanca, which was also incorporated within the structure of CB Richard Ellis España.
2011 New clients. New services. New times. New name. CB Richard Ellis is now CBRE Spain.
